I was recently contacted to see if I could hand letter some wedding vows for an upcoming anniversary. I said, "Sure!" and then was sent the vows. They were cute, funny, and sweet, but so long! They weren't particularly long for vows, they were long for hand lettering. What had I gotten myself into?! So I set out to start figuring out how to fit all these words on to a page that would be pleasing to the eye. After much fiddling, erasing, tweaking, and many, many, many hours of work, I think we landed on something beautiful! I am so pleased with how it turned out and hope the lovely bride will be just as pleased.
Here we are laying out the design on a massive piece of paper so I could get an idea of the actual sizing. The only table in our house that would accommodate paper this size was our kitchen table. Which also happens to be the cat's favorite spot to lay. After all the pieces were mapped out on paper, I transferred it all to my computer and got to work digitizing everything. Since he wanted the piece printed on wood, everything needed to be vectorized in order to be printed. Below is the final piece before printing.
And here she is in all her wooden printed glory! It was a huge challenge but I'm so glad I took it on and am very pleased with the end result!
